I have the same problem, can't login on LTSP fat client to Lubuntu desktop,
others like Ubuntu, Gnome-Flashback works great. I tried this in xterm:
> /usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE
and have the same problem.

I think I can confirm that with Lubuntu desktop. XFCE, Mate or Gnome
Classic are just fine in very same fat
I'll try to install the gnome desktop, and it works, but Lubuntu does not work?
