Anders,
Is your workstation listed in the /etc/hosts file
with the name of 'term1' ?
And, is that the name used in the 'host' declaration
in the dhcpd.conf file ?
What i've seen happen is that the workstation has one
idea of what the hostname is, and the server has a
different idea.

Sorry, I've said that because I have the same problem with nasd and OSS plugin
in Xmms : no sound .
So, I'll be happy to know how to use it.
But, to go further :
Diagnosing your problem may not be that easy then ;-)
As for esd vs nasd, I guess you will have to consult the docs to get a
proper idea of what they're worth.
Are your speakers alright, is the sound card functionning properly, does
it have an onboard hardware volume control ...(this happens)
Ok, I will check that monday on the job ;)
The soundcard work, I'm sure about that. I have not think about hardware
volume, I will check that.
I will also double-check the other things, just to be sure.
Thanks for your help!

I wondered why xmms had stopped working when I built a new system using
RH8. I only discovered last night that RH had decided not to support
.mp3s in RH8 - see:

Hi all,
I'm running an ltsp 5 setup from a debian squeeze server; generally all
good!
One mystery, though, which, hopefully, someone here can point me in the
right direction.
Local sound on the client works fine, at least when the source is mplayer.
However, with flash source, I'm getting the

Hi list,
- 2 weeks ago I installed kiwi-ltsp with a prebuilt kernel. All was good.
- This server was messed up by other personel, so I had to re-install.
Did so 5 days ago. Just the same, works like a charm, except
sound...which is there on the clients,- but is very weak.
I seem to lack a mean
Hi list,
- On SuSE10.1/LTSP4.2u4 we've got a funny sound problem. We don't want sound
in Linux, so in lts.conf we do: SOUND_DAEMON = "rdp", which as the wiki
explains allows the modules but not the daemon to load.
- Thus the line SCREEN_02 = rdesktop -r sound:local IP-OF-WINDOWSBOX works
