I just received word from Georg Baum today that he has
updated debian packages. Take a look at the first article
on the LTSP.org home page for details.
As for your workstation going to the gateway to get its root
filesystem, are you sure the gateway isn't also handing out dhcp
info ?

on my mandrake box for a while and it worked flawless.
