SSH is used by default with LTSP-5 but you can change to xdmcp by setting:
SCREEN_07 = startx
Just make sure you enable remote xdmcp in gdm (or kdm)
The reason you need to set SCREEN_07, is because the first 6 screens are
taken up by getty processes.

On the Debian package of ltsp5 I was able to just hit Alt+CTR
I've been running LTSP 4.1 for over a year now and love it. I tried
upgrading to LTSP 5, but the video resolution was too low. In order to
fix it, I copied the lts.conf file over from my 4.1 directory and
rebooted the client, but there was no change. To further troubleshoot
