Hi,
I am trying to sort out something for a friend. He downloads YouTube videos
on Windows 7 and his laptop was rootkitted a couple of weeks back. I was
hoping to put something together using lubuntu on an old PC tower with the
hope of him not getting rootkitted. He'll need something with a GUI.

Hi Simon et al,
Something (big) cropped up. When I returned to my NetBook, the screen had
locked. Typed my password in. System then (visually) unlocked itself,
paused briefly and then locked me back out again. You can test this more
quickly by using the keyboard shortcut of CTRL+ALT+l

Hi Simon,
Taking a break from household things. Take a look at my install notes and
let me know if you want me to put any of this stuff on LaunchPad.

Hi,
(Intro)
I refurbish old PCs and laptops that people give me to refurbish and pass
on (free) to people with mental health problems, their carers or their
children. People give me unwanted hardware so I can do that. Sometimes I
scrounge parts. Sometimes I buy parts and pay for them personally.

Hi,
I decided to see if the Yakkety-Yak t-shirt is available and what it looked
like.
Went to www.ubuntu.com and clicked on "Shop" and was confronted with
"Ubuntu Advantage".
Found the actual shop here:- shop.canonical.com

Hi Nio,
TL;DR I've done some testing and failed to install 32-bit and 64-bit
lubuntu. As asked, wrote it up at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1632675
DETAILS:-
This is what I reported on launchpad:-
Happened to me, too - on both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures:-
Hi All,
I've added a "me, too" to the bug report, and some more information in case
it is needed :)

Hi,
I like the short-cut ALT+x keypress which alternately maximises the window
or returns it to its previous size.
However, I have noted with things like a terminal emulator (in which I use
bash) or emacs, quite often I end up manually making their windows either
as tall as possible or wide as po

Hi,
I have a rather cranky Dell Latitude CPx J650GT laptop. It only has a CD
ROM drive and so I can install released Lubuntus, courtesy of the net boot
iso. However, pre-release isos won't fit on a CD-R. How difficult would it
be to generate net boot isos of Lubuntu pre-releases?
I've spent a fai
