I know a work around for one of those issues is that switch out the standard desktop pager to the wnkpager which works better and actually the upstream beta of newest lxpanel uses by default. Remove the old desktop pager by right clicking on the panel click add for panel applets select wnkpager. M

The way to do this is to open pcmanfm. Which is in menu under Accessories File manager PCManfm. Or there by default is a folder with the panel that allows you to on the left.
