I have been spending a lot of time with Gluster, I like it a lot, on the surface it looks great. I like that I can get RAID 6 like functionality out of it, however after testing found it is not just ready for prime time. Our day one config is two servers with 10TB each in NYC and SJC. Origina

Configuring a new MDS/MGS machine for our full blown lustre setup. OST's are x4500's following the layout of the sun paper on the lustre wiki. This paper does not talk about the MDS though. We have a sun 2540 with 12 15K 300 GB drives. We plan to use 4 drives in a 1+0 with the rest bei

For those who are asking, I was able to build OFED 1.3.1 against the 1.6.5 release (after some hacking of the process). Considering centos 5.2 (with OFED 1.3) isn't released yet, someone might find it useful. Of course no warranties or guarantees :). http://research.yale.edu/hpc/OFED_1.3.1_lustre_
