After years of experimentaion with both sitting and holding the lute, I came
upon a 12" high footstool which is perfect. At 6 ft tall, I fold up around
the lute just enough to hold it securely; I no longer use a strap or foot
rest.

Leonard Williams

All,
My wife and I have a duo and we often play
weddings. Not too long ago we got a request to play a
piece called the "Canadian Wedding Song" as the bride
walked in. Neither one of us had heard of it and
research turned up nothing, so we asked the bride's
mother to provide us with the musi

In recent weeks I have been e-mentoring a young composer merely 19 years old
from the
ancient city of Chernyghiv in Ukraine, named Maksym Zvonarev (aka Maximinus

For instance, German songs of that period were quite news for me and I

I think Al Bowly is pretty well known, is he not? Thus the funnierness of
the typo. Of course, in context, this is a misinterpretation of Tomaso
"Albinoni."

Oh dear...It has been a crazy two days. I've had to take the book
temporarily off the site. I have had over a thousand email enquiries in two
days! Can't cope. Will repackage it as a CDRom.
The lute was never like this!

I remembered a joke about the customer who asked for the 'Kodaly
Buttocks Pressing Song' from my father years ago, so I googled for
this and found (among others) this site that has several other
examples and classifies the genre as 'Mondegreens'

secret des muses'. The music is played by Nigel North, who will certainly
have become more familiar with dutch lute music nowadays as succesor of
Toyohikoh Satoh at the dutch conservatory at the hague in the netherlands
