Hello Robert
Well I hope you will record it. It would probably need two or three
baroque guitars to do it justice but I am not about to try.
Best wishes

It would love to hear you play it. It is quite appropriate for lute
really with its ground bass. I wonder if it would fit on the baroque
guitar.

Dear
The English composer Peter Maxwell Davies has died. I don't think he
wrote any lute music (pity - it would have been interesting if he did)
- but he was into early music at least in his youth.

Thanks for a very interesting list. Most of them I didn't seem to be able

I think he is not really concerned with tying frets. What he is
illustrating is Rules of perspective when drawing frets on the fingerboard.
He starts off by saying that the distance between the bridge and the nut is
divided into 16 parts starting from point E on the drawing. It is not very

Many thanks to all of you who sent me your e-mail addresses. I have
another query which perhaps some of you may be able to answer.
I was using Ghostview to convert my Django and Capella music files to
pdfs. The version I had seems to be an old one and there are newer
versions
I am not sure if it is catalogued separately. If you go to www.ram.ac.uk ,
click on Museums & Collections there is a page for the Spencer Collection.
If you work your way through the menu you should get to "Search our
collections" and you can check for individual items. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure what the arrangements were. Presumably it wasn't given to the
RAM free, gratis and for nothing. Probably other organizations would have
liked to get their hands on it. To be honest I don't think the RAM was a
suitable location for it. They don't or didn't have the facilities for
, and they would be
passed round the room. That could never happen now.

It is probably Spanish in origin although a bit obscure. It is in triple
