It depends on where it is coming from (instruments from Canada or Mexico should come in free) and what it is classified as. I always asked makers to label them as "Reproduction of Antique" which isn't (or wasn't, anyway) dutiable where as "Musical Instrument" is. There are weirdnesses - bagp
