I agree with Nancy that this is a gorgeous recording by Claire Antonini. I
found that by pressing the pause key at a brief moment in the photo sequence,
the tablature can be
displayed large enough for hand copying. MMle Antonini adds a little very
pleasant improvisation toward the end. Thank
Bravo Daniel!
You should try the prelude as well, its a real little gem!

If you use Microsoft windows you could use Photostory 3, which is free.
Here is a video of someone explaining how to use it. It's very

Not the piece in question, but a nice little clip nevertheless, especially
the future
Thought I would give it a try. Even though the notes are not that
difficult, keeping the rhythm and balance is a real task and makes me
appreciate Hoppy's landmark recording even more.

Dear friends,
I followed closely this discussion and at the end I am a little
puzzled: besides the nice Harald's transcription, does anybody know the
source of that prélude?
The prélude is clearly NOT included in the CNRS Vieux Gautier edition.
Thanks for all,
Luca

LOL, not so dramatic !
It's just sharing some things that were also given to me.
Such a file, lovely as it may be, can never replace an excellent facsimile - which can't
replace the impressions one gets from the originals...

It is in the old Vieux Gaultier edition by CNRS, on page 56. The reason you cannot find

That's not the one , I fear.
Gernot's transscription corresponds with the mp3 that Göran sent me.
But the sarabande in A is sth. different.

you?

Hi, Goran.
That is a very good question.. I am very familiar with the piece
through listening, but I do not know the sourxce for this
prelude. If it does not appear in Peter Streur's inventory, I do not
know exactly where to look for it. i did consult Robards, and it is
not in that book. I
Dear all,
very beginning. This little prelude is specified as coming from an English manuscript
though, and it doesn't seem to be from Robart...
Yes, Hoppy wrote it in England ;)
*
As we know the master, this piece doesn't necessarily bear the name of prelude in any
source.
Is it in A?
Is it in A? Not perhaps in f#?
Specified as A. Here's the track.
And what is meant by an English ms.?
There are several French ones in England, I believe, as the Oxford 576,
616, 617, 618 or
London 16889 or Sloane. And there is Ruthwen, a partially English ms in
Paris :)

Some years ago I made a Fronimo file of the A Major prelude by V.

Yes, Robart's is a nice book.
