Please change all references of /cvs to /var/cvs when referring to
cvs.sylvan.com (AKA anoncvs.us.lyx.org).
Beyond that change, it all works correctly now!

displayed in the navigation menu as The.
Why do I use this char? Well, I use the csquotes package and have defined '|'
