In the preamble, you may put :
\addtocounter{section}{-1}

I am trying to use lyx for my student's coursebook. Therefore, I want to
draw some empty lines (a series of underscore's?). Is it possible to
draw such a line that goes to the right margin automaticly, so I don't
have to count each underscore?

I have a few questions that I haven't been able to solve on my own. Until now, I
managed, but these issues have me stumped. Using AMS-article class,

Hi there!
I'm about to write more and more for my master thesis with LyX (as I did
for my thesis for a diploma). Since the pages around the "real content"
are growing (table of contents, abstract, thanksgivings, ...), I'd
really like to use another numbering scheme for those pages, i. e. small

LyX 1.0.3 totally fails to import this simple file. I don't even get the
title and author! The file compiles fine with LaTeX.
If the \usepackage{graphicx} is enabled things are even worse (lost of
errors during "view dvi"). It also fails to recognize the [A short
caption] option.
Any ideas why?

Do you get the correct pagenumber then? If I put this command before the
bibliography, its put on the page before the actual bibliography in the

Any suggestions?

Thanks J-P! I will try your suggestions.
Bill
I am writing a series of small documents each of which is a part of a bigger
publication. They are all generated using the `article' document class.
Currently each small document is included into a base file and has a title on
its first line as a part*.
This is all perfect, but I would like to b

Is there a web site where I can get lyx information. For example more
layouts and styles or packages that can bu used in lyx?
Thank you!

I am writing my CV using LyX. I am happy using the article class. The only
question I have is as follows.
I have a section Publications in the CV with subsections:
Publications
Papers in refereed journals
Manahilov V., & Simpson W.A. (1999) Energy model for contrast detection:
Spatiotemporal
