Ok, I've more or less sorted it out. I installed the chngpage package
and added Evil Red Text surrounding the figure inside the float.
The LaTeX produced is:
\newpage
\begin{center}%
\begin{figure*}[h]
\begin{center}\begin{adjustwidth}{-4em}{-4em}\includegraphics[
angle=270,

Hello,
while using lyx 1.2 I couldn't get a double dot sign from the keymap:
\kmod \ umlaut aeouAEOU
This means that when I press the I get a , not the expected dead key.
But the other keymaps from the standard american-2.kmap work nicely,
which are:
\kmod ' acute aeiouAEIOU
I did not do that and the math panel works. Although I do not know the
exact nature of the urw fonts bug
