Yes, seems so. In qt, you have to press "use class defaults" (or set "reset to
defaults on class change" in prefs) to get the extra options.

This is most likely the problem. SuSE 9.0 ships qt 3.2.1 AFAIR. If you build a
rpm with an updated setup, you should probably add

I downloaded the 1.3.4. RPM for SuSE9.0 as offered through www.lyx.org.
(ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.3.4/lyx-1.3.4-1suse90_qt.i586.rpm)
Installing the RPM was smooth.
LyX starts and I can open the menue for opening a file.
The I get repeated ly (always):
