How do I insert a footer into a letter.
searching the list has led me to switch on fancy in the settings
page layout options and then inserted
\lfoot{left footer test}
into the preamble
But no footer appears.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong.

I've recognized some Problems in both Lyx 1.6b4 and rc1 on MacOS 10.5
which I would like to report here. I don't know if these are bugs and/
or platform specific; so here they are:
- When I start Lyx 1.6 and costumize the appearance settings via the
Preferences... dialogue and then
If I add an environment such as senderaddress they appear in
French. Existing letter files use English labels, but if I add any
new labels they are also in French.
This is with lyx 1.5.5 on OSx, any easy fix available.

from the Lx wiki, but when I compile it, I only get the text of the

I downloaded a journal template and now I want to use it in LyX.
I copied the folder to the LyX class folders at:
C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7\tex\latex
then I pressed the Reconfigure menu, I restarted but I can not see the new
class in the Document Settings menu.
Can someone please advise?
Using an ams book document class, and minitoc, the last line of the toc
entry is almost touching the bottom horizontal line. is there anyway to get
minitoc leave some vertical space before the ending toc line?
e.g.
Chapter 1
1.1 blah blah
1.1.1 blah blah blah
