I have a Master document which is in Portrait orientation, and a child
document that I need in Landscape. I am also using fancy header option
under Document class.
I am able to set the child document as Landscape (found the answer in the
archive), but the headers and footers still remain in

If you access to a Windows machine, and it's important enough to you to
spend some money on, I recommend word2tex and tex2word. This will handle
more than just plain text (

This depends upon exactly what you want to do. If the situation is that
you have a Word document and you want to import it into LyX, then this
can be done, though not directly, as there's no good converter chain

last time i was in italy i bought an issue of the italian magazine Linux
Pro (no.82, Settmebre 2009) and found a four pages article on LyX
offering a tutorial.
