Graphics preview in Lyx gives

Hi, When I add a pdf figure into lyx the preview works only for the current session. When I restart Lyx I get an error: Error loading file into memory. This only seems to occur with pdf files (i.e. not with .svg or .png) and has no effect on the final rendered PDF. I've seen references to this

Thanks, Richard--example file attached! It works when everything in the preamble is commented out, but the endnote numbers appear as superscripts in the Notes section (which is not what I want; I need them to be on the main line in normal size, followed by periods and then the note text). Maria
