Hi Uwe,
a few days ago I installed LyX+MikTex under Windows 7 (Enterprise
Edition) using your Altinstaller Complete (i.e. LyX 1.6.3 plus MikTex)
and to my great delight
* It was a breeze - everything went smoothly*
Just, towards the end, when LyX starts checking for installed

Hi LyXers,
sorry for a perhaps silly question, but I was unable to solve it with
the User Guide.
In AMS-style, I need to enumerate items inside Example, Theorem, or
Lemma environments
I want them to look roughly as follows:
Theorem (i) blabla
(ii) blablu kjkjkjk
oioioi oioio
(iii) blubla

I am following the discussion on the new shiny Lyx 1.4 with
great anticipation, but previous pains have taught me to
better wait for Uwe's WinInstaller to be released. Any
idea when this will be ?

Uwe, thanks for correcting the instant-preview glitch in your installer.
In my eyes, the installer is a great step ahead to make LyX popular amongst
Windows-Users who are typically not willing to install all sorts of auxiliary
programs (MinGW,Imagemagick, ...) before being able to try out a new
Thanks for all the advices to my mail. Most of the problem
solutions I knew, my point was to suggest making the default
behaviour for the windows version of LyX reasonable without
the need to tweak the system and to scan the FAQs.

Is the new installer meant to install everything
Lyx needs for instant preview to work ?
After
- installing the preview package in LaTeX,
- checking Edit-Preferences-Graphics-Instant Preview
- doing a Reconfigure
- restarting LyX
instant preview still does not work.
What is missing ?

Hi,
I frequently want to use itemize and/or enumerate within a
theorem environment. I know how to do it with ERT, can I
do it solely with LyX, too ?
I am using the article(AMS) layout.

I am using xypic with LyX 1.3.6-1 for Windows.
Angus Leeming kindly showed me how to do this:
Place usepackage{xy} into the preamble and enter the
xycode, e.g.
\xymatrix{A \ar[r] B}
into the lyx editor, then mark it and hit C-S-m.
This works with most of what I need from xypic, but

Hi,
is there anyone working with LyX and xypic.
Is there any support, or are there any workarounds
to see commutative diagrams in their full glory within LyX.
BTW: I need to work in the native Windows-version of LyX
Thanks,
Peter
