create new LaTeX macros for do the job directly with \maketitle ? I've
tried the \let TeX primitive, but this seems to mix things up, or maybe
I#m using this command in the wrong way.

The thesis layout of my uni asks for chapter titles in capital letters
I suppose there is no need to delete the \chaptername. Consulting the
Latex Companion I couldn't figure out how to change only this, but
probably there is a way to modify just a specific point in the whole
thing.
