That's great! I just wanted to stay with the existing styles before
thinking of customization, but now what you have made should do exactly
what I need.
Thank you,

Thank you for your reply, Csikos. Let me simplify my question a bit.
What I need is a combination of
-- "abbrv" which abbreviates the authors' first names, and
-- "alpha" which creates keys like [Tar56] which are short and readable
as in the example in my previous email:

Hello,
I am using LyX with Natbib and Natbib style set to "Author-year" (under
"Document" -> "Settings" -> "Bibliography" -> "Citation Style").
If I use "Insert" -> "List / TOC" -> "BibTex Bibliography", and choose
"alpha" as the "Style", then I get results such as

That sounds interesting! I'll see if I can get it working.
Thank you!
Hello,
How can I restate a theorem in different parts of a document?
I prefer that the entire theorem text is duplicated, but I can live with a

Also, the more LyX-compatible the solution is, the better!

On my system if an article contains non-English letters, e.g. Gärdenfors,
spell checker gets confused. That is, after reaching "Gärdenfors", if I hit

Hi Rob,
Thanks a lot for your prompt and helpful respond!
I have copied "aaai.sty" from the AuthorKit to ~/Library/texmf/tex/latex/
and followed the rest of your instructions, and things are working quite
nicely.
The only problem I have is with Bibliography. I have inserted it using:
Insert -> L
Hello,
I am trying to use LyX to create an article in the AAAI format.
AAAI provides a Latex author kit which can be downloaded here:
