Hi folks, I was writing my dissertation under lyx 1.0.3 and updated to 1.1.16. However a doc file which would compile just ok under the older version now does not work on 1.1.16 (there appears over 140 erros). The file has not been changed at all how can i sort it out? thanks!

Hi... you have to use a couple of latex commands to do it. just type \pagenumbering{roman} where you want to begin a roman numbering style and format as latex (format - tex). after this type the following commands on the page you want your arabic numbering to start and format as latex

Hello Torsten you might use apalike, which formats your citation like: (author, year) It is just to use apalike style in your bibtex references and type \usepackage {apalike} in your preamble. It 's also possible to use AMS styles which format the citations by its initials I hope it helps

I had a problem like you myself I don't know with sort of requierments you have to follow, but some styles are available on http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/catalogue.html You may install one in your latex system and use a copy of the report.layout, renamed to the actual style.
