now, I'm well chuffed! So, the moral of the tale is patch Tru64 to the hilt (http://ftp.support.compaq.com/patches/public/unix/v5.1) and use GCC-3.0.1 (only flag to compile gcc was --enable-libgcj which is irrelevant here anyway). I'm using xforms-0.89 and appropriate Xpm (3.4k?). Simon -- Simon
