Hi,
Thank you for table improvements in 2.4.0. Unfortunately I still have problems
to vertically align text.
In the MWE, row 3 is shown to be vertically centered but this does not seem to
work. From column 3 to the right, all cells in this row are correctly shown as
vertically top-aligned but

Attached is an example, with the error occuring in 1.6 fix 4. I've also
just tested it under 1.2.0 cvs, and found it doesn't give an error.
As noted in my other message, I have found a workaround that is OK in
1.6f4 as well.
Thanks,

Enlightenment, I think. As always, just after I posted.
I was using the "minipage" button under the paragraph options. I managed
to somehow ignore the "minipage" located in the table formatting options.

Hi all,
I suspect this is me being stupid, but I never seem to be able to quite
get what I want out of tables.
Essentially, I want to define the table cell width, and have it centre
aligned. I've found that in any column *except the last* I can do this by
setting a column width, and then centre

Dear LyXers,
Even after the study of Herberts pages, I have no solution for the vertical
alignment in tables.
Using LyX 1.1.6fix2, I want to align some stuff in a way that it looks like

If have one problem concerning vertical centering in tables.
I tried the methods, I found at Herbert´s great page and also at this
mailing list:
I have a table of three column and one row.
1. I fixed the width of the first two columns to 20mm
2 Then I tried to set the valign to center by using

Greetings!
I foolishly agreed to help with my school yearbook, and possibly more
foolishly decided I wanted to do the layout in lyx/LaTeX. Anyways,
to get back on topic, my problem is the following: I want to have
pages with two photos, a title and a short text, layed out like this.

I have a problem, somebody already asked in March, but I was not able to
solve it anyway:
If I fix the column width of a table, I´m no longer able to center the
text in the table.
Dekel did some suggestions and attached an example file, but
unfortunatly I was not able to open it (msg10030.html

I just can't understand LyX tables. I upgraded to 1.1.6fix1 and I still

Thanks for quick help, but nothing has changed. Your returned file
behaves same as before. It is probably my LyX version 1.1.6. You seem to
use newer LyX, so I guess this bug goes away when I upgrade.

I put a table inside wide table float. I manually set the cell width,
some to 2cm some to 3cm.
The problem is that I can't set the alignment inside the table cells.
Both of the H.Alignment in Tabular Layout are grayed out, so I can't set
them. I can use Layout/Paragraph to set the Alignment to Ri
