Hello,
As the subject says, greek symbols are broken on screen

This seems there since 1.3.0 (earlier messages in teh mailing list),
and the fix mentioned in the 1.3.3 release :

doesn't help.

Hi,
Thank you for the advice.
The workaround I chose for now is to install
and activate the preview-latex package. But I will
be looking forward to the new LyX-1.3.3 !

Hi Stefaan,
you're right, the problem is 2-3 weeks old, but solved. The prblem is
that debian unstable still has LyX-1.3.2 without the required patch.

Hi all,
I am using Debian unstable, and since I updated my system today for
the first time in the last two weeks, most of the LyX math symbols have
stopped appearing in the qt front-end.
I *do* have latex-ttf-fonts installed, and they are visible

I'm a new LyX user, and have installed 1.3.1 on RedHat 8.0.
Some math symbols, such as a big sigma (sum) are not displayed.

Hi,
I installed lyx 1.3.0 with cygwin yesterday and encountered the math symbol
rendering problem (the integral seen as R etc. on lyx) . I tried many
things, and finally made it work correctly after deleting/renaming the
strange looking "fonts.dir" and "fonts.scale" files under

Hi!
If I use the font "pslatex" instead of "helvetica" for instance, the
greek letters in my document (\alpha, \delta ...) are not displayed
correctly on the screen (a, d ...). I get the following warnings after
running latex:

Hi will,
Seems like I recall having a similar problem back when I started using LyX.
Have you tried running texhash?

Thanks for the speedy reply. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the
problem... I have all of the packages you listed except for tetex-doc

Hi all,
I've gone through the Introduction and Tutorial, and have skimmed the
User's Guide, but I can't find any mention of this problem anywhere. A
google search was also fruitless, as was a search of this list's archive.
I've just been following the tutorial, and have corrected the

Dear all
I'm using 1.1.6fix1 on Mdk 8 and I have the problem here that certain screen
fonts don't show up. Which is the typical path to the fonts LyX uses to
display Math formulas and such?
Unfortunately I had to twiddle my fontpath for XFree86 around manually, so I
