I don't know what normal/available/practical software might be available, but one interpreter of epson matrix codes I know of is part of VSI-FAX. You can feed it captured epson matrix printer output (IBM ProPrinter, Epson MX, Epson FX, etc) and it would render it as a tiff for faxing. -- bkw On J

Okay. Thanks for the hints. Anybody know any good RAM diagnostic techniques for a 102? It's been a long time since I've used a scope in anger on anything but serial or audio. I'll dig into the datasheets tomorrow and see if I can gather any clues. A quick probing shows lots of address line activity

Have you tried one of the free text-to-pdf converters to see how it handles the formatting codes? BTW, I also sometimes use a P-S converter and it's probably not relevant for you, but it's fairly trivial to simply redirect most programs' print output to the com port... m - Original Messa

Duh; sorry, I saw the M100 references and didn't notice that we're talking about a 102. My 102 is similar to the 24K M100, with three soldered chips (3 x Sony CXK5864PN-15L) and one Mitsubishi M5M5165P-12L (M6) in a socket. Don't know what the history of yours is, but I'd actually suspect M6 (o
