The m100 can receive files via the cassette port from almost any audio source.
The trick is to use a an audio transformer. Something like an 8 ohm to 1.2k
ohm. The 8 ohm end connects to the output of the audio device. The 1.2k ohm
Once I had a process down i was able to repeatably make mp3 files that
played from an iPhone 6 using audacity and a that Thinkpad laptop.
Using a dedicated TASCAM recording device was easier and reliable but those
are expensive.
My only problem is I didn't have much use for it. It's cool to be ab
Kurt"held recorder in SHQ more (192kb mp3) works every time for me." THAT
is the equation! A minimum of 192k for MP3 files.

Waveform looks good and similar to mine. However Not at max signal swing.
I may have to boost it.

I have made .WAV recordings of my programs before, for the purpose of
"double backup" when traveling with my M100 on commercial airline flights.
I carried my CTR-81 and the programs I needed on tape as well as being
loaded in memory. This was in the days when the airline security x-ray
machines wer
Sony ICD-PX333 hand held recorder in SHQ more (192kb mp3) works every
time for me. In fact I gave up trying to record with my PC because I had
so many issues. I've also used an older 720 model and it worked just as
well. I could never get my PC to stop messing with the audio when I
tried to record.
This subject always interests me. But it is frustrating.
I've been playing around with the files on Sonora.us. awesome effort to
put that together! I do have some comments though.
1. The audio files don't work for me in any scenario so far. I believe
that at least some of them are distorted.

Thanks for the advice!!! I'll tear into it this week and see what I can
find. Unfortunately my soldering iron conked out a while back and I haven't
gotten a replacement yet, so the repair might take me a while.

No. Sardine is the spell checking program put out by Traveling Software.
They had a stand alone ROM version which included T-WORD, SARDINE and a
small 7k word dictionary on one rom. That's the ROM version and all
three of those are available. You found the file which contained the
ROM image. They
I played a bit with Audacity, and I have a couple of comments, wrt settings.
1) 8 bit vs 16 bit. If like me you are interested in the actual files,
and size matters, then consider saving the file in 8bit format. this saves
1/2 the data.
2) filtering. Applying a low pass filter at ~18 kHz as a
