Generally you use it to back up a real model t ram state, over the serial port very quickly. And you could later restore that image onto the same laptop or give it to a friend to restore on theirs. Yes you can use that RAM image with virtual t by copying it over its RAM image file that it keeps on

I don't have any handy but RAM images can be useful for saving configurations of multiple files especially with large ML programs that are difficult to load, like TMPC. And even without a REX, because you can use TBACK.EXE to save or load a RAM image. -- John.
