Thanks. The spherical coordinates used for displaying positions might scare some folks away. However, I suspect there are many electrical engineers in this group that had to endure courses in E&M fields where they would learn all about spherical coordinates so that should not be a factor. If any

First off an apology that this post is slightly off topic.I say only
slightly because I am interested in doing some assembly language programming on
the TRS-80 Model 100 or the NEC8201.
After retiring from Boeing, I acquired a couple of Arduinio based emulations of
the Altair 8800.

Someone please respond to this so that I can see that I am getting through to

Carlos,
I have a null modem cable..It is basically a straight through RS-232 cable
but with bins 2 & 3 swapped so transmit goes to receive and receive to
transmit. My PC laptop does not talk RS-232 but does talk USB. I don't use
the null modem cable.
I bought a USB to RS-232 using a fe
to remember the CALL statement for every single
module.
I think the current REX is the "REX#". Looking back through the mailing list,
you should be able to find the person making them.

What do you envision yourself doing with the M100?
The biggest issue you may have is getting data and programs to & from the
Model 100. I suspect you will use RS-232 with a terminal emulator
program. I use Tera Term.
The backpack drive is also a great method in that it uses a m

Joshua,
Thanks for the compliment.
I have made many a rushed/botched repair myself – almost to the point of being
reluctant to try anymore repairs. However, when the only alternative is to
discard the item, the “I have nothing to lose” attitude prevails and I charge
ahead and sometime
don't have a printer hooked up to my 8201 (yet) but will
add this to my NEC software collection.
Thank you!

It was around 1980 thereabouts when I bought my TRS-80 Model 1 16K Level 2
machine. I was already married with 3 kids and was on my 3rd job after
college (I earned my BSEE in 1975). If I recall correctly, that machine cost
me about $750. It was a pretty big purchase for us because I was not

Hello Everyone,
I wrote yet another calendar program for the TRS-80 Model 100 and NEC PC-8201A.
I call it YACalP.ba.
You can find this program along with a pdf file containing the documentation I
wrote for this program at

Thanks.
I've purchased Avery labels before and noticed they have templates but I
haven't used them.
I've always felt a little nervous about rerunning sheets of labels through an
ink jet feeder. Should one of the unused labels come loose, clearing the
resulting jam could be a big mess.
Any
like that problem was solved.
Thanks

I currently have two TRS-80 Model 100s. One of them with an annoying screen
defect and the other with a dead RS-232 port. These were both eBay
acquisitions.
I also have a NEC that I've had since the early 80s. It seems to be working
fine.
