Pro systems have higher output levels than a consumer device. Wonder what the
output specs are.

the 720 as well and
that one worked just as well. Volume set to 100% and that was it.

I have to agree
A while back I had the idea of having an Arduino decode and bit-bang the
cassette port protocol on my T102. As with all of my projects I got
distracted, never finishef, and ended up using the MIDI cable for its
intended purpose.
It seems a more efficient way of storing what is honestly a tiny
I have to agree that it is possible but in my experience not reliable.
Maybe it boils down to the device.
I have an mp3 player that I was using and it works sometimes and not
others very frustrating.

Well FWIW, I was able to load a program via MP3 file on my iPhone 7.
Interesting. That would explain why I am able to use ts-dos.mp3 on my
phone, but the volume has to be all the way up. If it is a single step down
it doesn't work. And someone else couldn't get it to work at all from their
different phone.
Also in my case, at first I tried using a stereo-to-mono
I think the problem is voltage level from common audio devices is not high
enough. Need to have at least 2vpp. Most devices put out max 1.

I think it would be cool.
You could also do this a smart phone app.
The cassette file I/o has the advantage of being integrated into the rom.
That's why I made CloudT emulator interface with google drive and such via
hooked cassette I/o commands.

I keep messing around with Ted Rossin's circuit & s/w.
the website is gone but i saved the files a few times and archive.org
has a recent backup of the schematic

Jeez, storing a huge WAV file for the several hundred encoded bytes reminds
me of the cryo-flux approach to backing up floppies vs FC5025 which reads
floppies like floppies.
How about "encoding" the audio into a file, then playing the saved encoded
file back as audio?
More work for sure, not
I'm running an idea through my head and I'd like to bounce it off you guys.
The idea is to create a virtual cassette recorder/player. Possibly
for my T102, but also for the pocket computers that I have.
I've found this
