The new apple tv only has an audio out via an optical connection, I had to get
an optical to phono with a d.a.c ( digital to analogue convertor for my Denon
hi-fi ) from amazon but it all works very spiffily now.

I am running VMWare Fusion ver 3.1.3, but when I go to check for updates from
the software I am told this is the latest version. Is this because ver 4r is a
major release? If I download from the website are there any problems in
upgrading that anyone knows of?
Any comments welcomed

The first thing I would suggest is the obvious, backup your VM before you
upgrade. But it should all work fine, ours did.

The reason is Dennis that the update isn't an upgrade. The purchase price is
$49.95 until the end of the year. So there isn't an upgrade as such.
But you know, if you are happy with 3 you're not going to gain a lot by
upgrading.

I have finally gotten VMWare Fusion 4.0.1 working with the virtual machines I
used with VMWare Fusion 3. Everything went well except for problems paying for
it! I wonder if others have this problem and if so what did i do wrong.
I am using the latest version of Safari and Lion 10.7.1. I

They used to be used by Microsoft for some document apps. But they're
exclusively Windows I believe.

The firmware addresses fan speed issues and adds support for more Thunderbolt
displays. It only applies to mid 2011 models and, just possibly but not likely,
mid 2010 as well.

There is an icon in the downloaded Fusion disk image to upgrade from Fusion 3.
I think there's more to it than just running the app and copying it.
