The other day I was introduced to Abbyfein, a scanner/text reader that
works particularly well with a scanner, converting the scanned material to
text. The scanner recommended was the Canon, but I've forgotten the exact
model, but I do recall it was under $100.00.

Hi Paula,
I agree that Transmit is worth it, but if you want a free FTP client that is
accessible, a number of people use Cyberduck. I'll point you to the download
link at the MacUpdate site, since the version at the Mac App store cost $23.99:

I had a look at transmit. All I want 2 be able to do is get some material off
an ftp site. It's probably a little too expensive for the small amount that I
need to be able to do with it.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Take care

Yeah you can only ask for a refund once. and that sucks. but there ya go.
Look for a contact link if you can and if not sign up for the forums if you can
do that.
Good luck.

I also use transmit and it's very well worth the price. I can't wait until the
next major release when ever that is. and the dev is wonderful as well.

Hi there
I've had a look at the support page, and I can't find a spot where I can
contact the developer. This is all new to me and am still getting my head
around it. Apple refunded my money for another app but told me they would not
be able to do this if applications weren't accessible, but
Thanks so much for that Colin, I shall try this and see how I go.
I hope you are having a good day.

Hi Paula!
First welcome to the list!
I do believe that you might be able to get money back!
I think the procedure is to contact the dev!
And ask if accessibility could be added and if they reply no or something like
that then you can tell Apple and they should refund your money!

Thank you for the very warm welcome. I'm a total novice when it comes to

Hi Will,
I could be wrong about this, but I think you need to be plugged directly to the
Mac with your USB cable, as the download comes from iTunes. I do not think that
the Wi-Fi sync capabilities of IOS 5+ do not extend to the downloading of
content that is not already in your iTunes Library.
