Hello to all,
Has anyone else who uses the kindle program on the iPad noticed a significant
delay when pages are automatically turning? I hear around 6 second silence at
bottom page, followed by a thump sound, followed by the page turning sent.
This I feel really detracts from the reading
Hi David,
I've now assigned a key on the numpad to the copy last phrase to
clipboard command and was hoping I could use this to copy quite a
large chunk of text to the clipboard. I started VO reading with a two
finger swipe down and when it got to the end of what I wanted two
finger tapped to
I've not played with things enough to know, but I will say that what I find
extremely aggervating is no way to manually turn pages that I can see. I
know it'll do it with the say all command, (two finger flick down,) but
sometimes it's nice to be able to do it yourself. That all being said,
There's a way easier way to do this.
Start by placing Voiceover on the item you need to begin selecting from,
then hit vo+return. Now use your vo navigation and go to the end of what
you need selected. Then hit vo+return again. Now everything between those
chunks should be selected. Now
Use three finger flick left

I somewhat recall not having success with that, but I'll gladly try again.

Yes we should all contact amazon to give them suggestions to add the
ability to turn pages in the app.

Hi all,
Yet another mail quirk I think and a hard one to explain. Ok I'm on a mailing
list and, for some reason, I get mails twice. If I look on IOS or that other
operating system we don't mention on this list, I see both mails coming in. On
apple OSX Mountain Lion, I only see those mails
No I haven't had this experience.

3 finger flick left or right is working reliably in the Kindle app on my 4S,
just as it does in iBooks.

I have the original iPad, and I do notice more of a gap between pages in the
Kindle app than with the iBooks or Nook apps, but it isn't anything like 6
seconds. I don't notice this on my 4S, making me wonder if the issue is
processor or ram dependent. Maybe somebody with a newer iPad, i.e. the
You can turn pages in the app, just 3 finger swipe to the left or right.

Also thank them for at least making the app usable. I suppose they just did
that so the NFB would leave them alone lol

As has been pointed out, pages are turnable. It is an experience very much like
iBooks. I'm not sure speculation on why they did this is very fruitful, let's
just appreciate the fact they did.

Not within the app, unfortunately, that's an Apple policy. You can buy them in
Safari on the device pretty easily though, or on your mac or PC, of course.

Ah, so you can't do like an in-app purchase? Interesting. I hope the amazon
site is accessible on the mac then, lol.

Speaking from personal experience, it's not too bad. Certainly no less
accessible than on the PC at any rate.

I don't' get the whole thanking Amazon thing. I mean, do people thank them
for making the app usable without VO? (at risk of being controversial)

Amazon has a special accessible site, which is much cleaner than their
regular site.
The URL is:
http://www.amazon.com/access/
Not that you cannot use their regular site, I normally don't use the
accessible site.
