Thank you so much! I hope you'll be proud to know that I actually figured this
out once I left the computer and went out to do errands! And of course, that
you would have to be in an edit field makes perfect sense! As I said before,

You can find an archive of all messages postedto
Will do this by default. Currently there is no way to search mail on the server
using the Mac. The only way to do this, is to create folders or labels on your
servers account. And then search those.

all of my emails are downloading ok, but say if i want to search for an email
on my iPhone it is it seems, going outside of the emials on the phone and
getting emails stored on the server online for my email provider, yet, when i
go on to the mac i can't seem to get it to do that

on my mac under advance keep messages on server for deleted etc. is checked the
iPhone as i say can find all by default not though the mac when i search it
seems it is searching only local mailboxes

substitutions submenu, my smart quote option was dimmed. How can I get it to
be active? Must I do that in System Preferences, or e-mail Preferences?

As far as I know, the setting should stick. You have to do it for each
application, but that’s all.

I inherited most of my calendar from Mountain Lion where I could easily set the
