Hi all
When people on list reply to others who ask for advice, assistance, whatever,
would you please check your spelling and typo errors before posting. Replying
to requests with badly typed messages as have appeared on list recently cause
more confusion than anything else. Please take a lit
i think that is a little harsh as some of us can have trouble spelling some
things and if people keep being harsh like that then some people are not going
to feel comfortable helping any one at all. On 27/07/2011, at 8:17 PM, Gordon

I agree. some of us have issues with typing either because of hand and motor
issues, or w e are in a hurry and have tu rush out the door, or we have
cognitive disabilities which prevent us from learning how to spell correctly.
Just my thoughts. And sometimes auto correct can play a role and we

mean any harm by having a few little miss spelt words its not like a crime is

Hello Krystal
Nobody expects perfection. But the point here is that if there are a very great
deal of errors it's not helpful because you end up looking around for something
which is totally different, if you get my drift. We're not talking a couple of
letter here, we're talking about very bad

My two cents about this email is that it was inappropriate to send it to
everyone on the list because:
1. By sending this email to everyone on the list it comes across as if you are
berating (yes, berating) us for mistakes I suspect only a few have made .
2. . If a email is so badly typed

We have already explained this twice, we aren't talking minor errors which we
all make. We're talking about major errors which, although unintentionally,
mislead people.

Hi Linda,
If you don't want to read an email, and if you do not think the spelling
mistakes apply to you, you can always delete it. If the subject line isn't very
clear regarding the issue, read the first mail in the thread then decide if you
want to continue reading. If Lynne and Gordon have d
That is a superbly written mail. I've discarded three drafts trying, and
failing, to say something similar.

Hi there!
And just for the hell of it!
I've got mine set to check before sending!
And believe me I need it!
I've only been trying to use English for 40 something years and still cannot
get it right!
Oh well back to school for me! hahahahaha

Hallo The List,
I should begin by confessing myself a shameless list lurker! I borrowed a

Hello Sandy
You are correct, this had absolutely nothing whatever to do with general
spelling. Somebody has twisted it to suit their own ends. It was aimed at those
who are taking no care when presenting URLs in messages. We are very well aware
that some people have literacy skills which vary a
Lynn,
I did as you asked and reread Gordon's original email about this subject. Here
it is for you to reread too:

It's also helpful for those of us who are asking for help. Some mistakes are
easy to recognize, but especially being brand new to the Mac world, I may not
recognize what is obvious to someone else as being wrong. I'd be very
frustrated by looking for an ap or a website using incorrect spelling.
Hi all
Just a quick note to say that if you still want explanation of this, please
write to me, not the group and not Lynne.
But for the record, the fault was mine, not Lynne's. I made a genuine error by
sending the wrong draft of a message which I wrote. Lynne saw the draft which

This is my one and only further comment on list.
Those people who are seemingly determined to give Lynne hassle on and off list,
take it up with me privately instead of Lynne. This wasn't her doing and I'm
