Carol - Seems like you can make a short cut, so hope it works for you. Regarding the use of VO left arrow; if you are in the messages table, stop interacting, then with VO left arrow, if your set up is the same as mine, you should hear: vertical splitter, and left again to mail boxes table, then

Andy, I didn't know about VO Left Arrow but this doesn't seem to work for me anyway. Strange! No, it's no real big deal but I do have a number of mail boxes and typing in iC can take me to any of the iCloud mentions, both account and mailbox. I am doubtful that I can make a shortcut also but
