Gordon,
I don’t mean to pry into your personal shebang, but if you don’t mind me
asking, why are you so much in objection to a physical boxed copy of ProTools?
HOnestly, that would probably be the way you’d wanna go anyway, as then you’d
get your ILok included in the price of the software, plu
See, this is why this stuff has always been beyond me, I'm more of the how does
it work, how do you fix it person? The fact that you and other people like you
know how to do this stuff is amazing to me, not that I'm taking on the blind
people are totally amazing mantra, but just that I could nev
I happen to agree with this. An FX processor, no matter how good, will never
accurately emulate the sound of a human voice even assuming you can get the
pitch changes spot on. Dane’s Yamaha unit may not even be an FX processor, I
don’t know. I too have an FX processor but it can only do so mu

I am simply throwing forward ideas and looking for the best way to accomplish
them. Please don’t start reading things into messages which are not written

Hi Chris
No, it sounds like given the circumstances I’m going to have to do separate
vocal tracks. The harmonisation issue doesn’t exist, as I have perfect pitch,
after a fashion these days, but I do still have it.
As I said, there are two issues here regarding ProTools. Lynne tells me that
Hi Sarah
I too have some musical training and experience in harmonising and chord
structures come naturally to me. I was aware of course, as Danny pointed out,
that you’d need to do the vocal tracks separately to the instrumentation
because if you applied pitch bending you’d then screw up all

There are certainly hardware and software solutions but as mentioned you can't
just drop third harmonies over a melody and have it all stay consonant with the
chord progression. If there is just vocals you can use a harmoniser but with
music involved the harmonising has to be created with the c
I have a dedicated Yamaha effects unit that does all that though I'm sure there
are software based solutions around, perhaps it might be worth looking on the
Sony Sound Forge site to see if plugins are available to do this sort of thing.
