The trick to quicktime spead up is to first adjust the speed, then
adjust the pitch to make it sound more normal. Quicktime doesn't
automatically adjust pitch with speed, so you need to do that part
yourself, but I think it turns out better for the experience, though

While I have used quicktime to speed up podcasts, I prefer the sound of the VLC
media player which to me sounds better when sped up.

iTunes can't change the speed of playback, but VLC and QuickTime Player can.
The version of QuickTime Player that was used by default before Sn
