Hi Donal It's not the best way of doing this job, but with Migration assistant, you can actually check boxes for which types of files you want to move. But what I would suggest you do is, if possible, just move/copy the files on block to an external disk then copy them back over that way. If

Afternoon all, I should know the answer to this but can't remember it. I want to move a folder from my old MBP to a new Air. It's 98 GB in size. I was thinking of using a crossover network cable and using filesharing, and the appropriate permissions, to accomplish this. I've looked at

I believe there's target mode but since I've never used a mac in target mode I don't know how it works. I think you attach a firewire cable to both macs and boot throne you want to move your folder from by holding down the t key. After that I don't know what to do. Hopefully this is a push in
