I have a Tivo, it's the best thing since sliced bread... My wife the
technophobe can't think of living without it.
You have the price of the box, which in my case came with the satelite
system I have for an extra $50. If you want the ability for the recorder

John, what Satellite system do you have? I was told the same thing as
you. I have not done this before, but want the German channel, so
have to go with Dish, the only System that offers it. Since I don't
know the Tivo from the other DVRs, are they all the same, is Tivo
simply the brand nam

I have DirectTV, but you can get dvr with Dish tooyou'd have to check
with them to see what they offer I fairly certain they offer some form
of dvr box, just not sure if it's Tivo

Yeah that's the big gorilla in all this TiVo/DVR stuff. Making shows

Advertisers and TV execs have found it much harder to sell TV time because
of all of us skippers, so they've decided on a different strategy.

Hmm...I always wondered how that worked. I've got a VCR with commercial
skip that works pretty well. Occasionally it'll miss one, but not too
often.
