Ann, While using Mail in OSX, go to Mail preferences. accounts, select
your account, go to edit, then click on options, and check how you're

The mail got away from me. What I really wanted to also know is this:
Since I never deleted any sent or trash mail, and everything is or
should be sitting on the server, this is not quite the case. My sitting
mails go back three months. Does the server ever remove the stuff after
a certain time
I have one other question here. Does setting the server to get rid of
mail ina week or day or whatever one chooses, also get rid of the sent
messages? they are happily sitting on my server, too.

I was finally able to figure it out. You got me started in the right
direction. I had previoulsy looked in Mail>preferenced, but never
clicked the Edit button. I thought that would just allow me to change
the name or some similar type of 'editing."
I wanted to delete the messages

but never really knew what it meant. Mine was set to "never!!!" So I
suppose all my mail is still happily sitting on the server. By now it
must be bulging .

Ann,
On Entourage you go to the "Tools" header and scroll down to "accounts".
There you click on the account and choose "edit". Under options you will
find a box to "leave copy on server" and that can be checked if you want a
copy to stay on the server, or uncheck if you want it deleted.
