It's a 27" late 2009 iMac. The slot's not much wider than a CD, and with the foam rubber guard in the way, there's about 0 chance it'll come out on its own just from gravity. ... Guess there's no other way than to place the unit on its side, fish around with a paper clip, and hope to get lucky. Tha

I don’t know what model iMac it is, but all the Macs I have dealt with have a long narrow short-bristled brush strip on each side of the slot (not rubber). So you can part it and look behind it if you’re delicate. On Nov 4, 2014, at 5:11 PM, newsli...@autonomy.caltech.edu wrote: > There's a ru

Maybe. It depends how good your tech was at “Operation.” Seriously, I couldn’t answer this question unless the unit were in front of me in the shop. On Nov 4, 2014, at 1:32 PM, Carl Hoefs wrote: > Without looking, a new student in our lab slid his SD memory card into the CD > slot on his iMa

iMac CD slot access

Without looking, a new student in our lab slid his SD memory card into the CD slot on his iMac by mistake. And it went all the way in. Kinda makes you wonder how many people have done that before, as they’re adjacent to each other. Anyway, is there any known way to go about extracting it without
