I just grabbed the Dutch voices for the 30 day trial, but after
installing them they don't show up in voiceOver utility or in the speech
settings. Am I missing something, because the isntallation was
successful or is this a limitation of the trial period?

Hi!
When you install these voices, it asks you to restart to complete voice
activation. This usually doesn't make a difference, but you might want to give
that a shot. Also, make sure to open up Infovox iVox.app and complete the
online registration for the trial if you have not.

I need to ftp a file to the ACB Radio incoming folder. I can get there just
fine, navigate to the file I want to put, but then I'm dead in the water. I
tried doing a copy of the file, then navigating back to the location in which I
want to put it and pressing

The play list is the files that are in the folder that you picked.
If you go to file Open Recent submenu you can pick a folder to play that you
have played.

No These contacts were manually added by me on the Iphone. Now, I can't find
them uh oh. I'm confused because I thought the Iphone backed up automatically.

My son the computer engineer helped me yesterday. He had to clear out all of my
preferences because they had become corrupted.
Make sure you have Mail also set up to receive POP mail.
I originally had Gmail set up as an IMAP acount and it gave me nothing but
problems.
Bottom line;
I ran mail in pop/smtp mode for a long time with gmail. that was fine, but
didn't give me direct access to some of the other folders (like spam). I use
imap mode as its a bit more real time and I don't have to store all those mails
locally.
I can, however, see a reason for pop. most people
When I try to call my bank to check my balance using Skype, the numbers I type
in are not recognized, even though, when I use my cell phone, the number is
correct. Has anyone experienced a situation where a phone system didn't
recognized touch-tones generated by Skype?
