The odd thing is, that widget doesn't seem to be in my widgets area under extensions in the first place. When I tried to update, I didn't have to uncheck anything. Maybe I got lucky, but it just seemed to work over here. Could it be the difference in me being on El Capitan and not Sierra on

Did you check the "extensions" pane in system preferences to see if the iTunes widget is enabled there? If it is, then you can uncheck the box that enables the iTunes widget and then you should be able to get the update. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac

New problem today and I am having no luck with a Google search to turn up the answer. Either nobody else is seeing this or it’s too new I guess. When I try to update iTunes, I get the message "“iTunes.app” can not be updated because its extensions are in use by “Notification Center.app”.
