Hi Cary, of course it says check document now because that’s what it does. But because VO doesn’t read the highlighted text it seems to you nothing happened. Press VO + F6 after the announcement checking document now and you will hear the highlighted misspelled word. Open context menu and check

Your Mac requires that the windows account you are signing in to have a proper username and password. You cannot use guest. You will need to make sure you have a password setup on your Windows 7 user account, and that your Windows 7 user account has full permission to access that shared Drive.
