hello all,
I was wondering which technical aspects or protocols are necessary for
voiceover to read the subtitles of e.g. movies when playing them from utube,
netflix or other sources like websites or other apps on the iphone?
I would like to hear the subtitles that are available for everyone fro

Don't know, but there is a new contender out there with Braille Blaster
being delivered by APH for free. I expect the Duxbury system costs
thousands.
Best Wishes,

Dbt does not cost thousands. It never has. I have no clue about this so-called
new contender. But Duxberry for windows at least, has been the standard
forever. I think the Mac version is a little bit cheaper than the Windows
version, probably around $500 which is certainly not cheap. But it’s no

Hi,
Before you put them into your Wish List thing, do they say "Available on
Prime"? If not, then I'm guessing that the reason you can't watch them is that
they're either not available on Prime yet, or you need a higher level
subscription.

Free is not always cheaper. But it may take me a while to scrape up
$695 for DBT so if APH releases their app sooner, I certainly will try it.
DBT for Mac will use the same files that were produced with the
Windows version. DBT for Mac also can work on documents exported from MS
Word.
Just downloaded versions for both the Mac and Windows.

Hi folks,
Is there a fast way to change the rating on a song in iTunes? I currently have
to select the song in the table then go into info and details and then find the
rating and change it and then save. On previous versions I opened a context
menu on a song selected rating and updated it.
I did write a one line AppleScript to "Love" the currently playing iTunes
song. If this is not a granular enough adjustment, a modification could
probably be made to the script. Once you have rated a song, what do you end
up doing with the rating?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi,
Not sure what's happening there for you. The "Rating" item is still in the
Contextual menu for me. I use Song view in my playlists if that makes any
difference and I am running the latest versions of MacOS and iTunes.

The APH version uses some kind of XML documents, but does do much of what DBT
does, just a bit more technical.

that simple though.

Hi Tim and others,
Solved. To get the rating option back in my context menu I needed to go to
preferences, General, and mark the check box.
this is a result of my recently needing to do a clean install of my OS
leaving many settings I have not looked at in years needing adjustment.

I got the Tech 21 Elite case from the Apple store for my I phone Ten and it is
strong and protects the phone from drops. I don't have a screen protector
though and I do just fine without one.

Which one’s? I know the steps to do it, but don’t see them anywhere within the
app itself.

I've been looking at my Airbook's SSD with Diskutils and noted that my
Mac partition is not encrypted.
Is there any reason I wouldn't want to encrypt it? Is Voice Over not
compatible with Apple's encrypted file systems?
Thanks for the help!

I gave your configuration a try to see if it made things any better. It does,
but there’s still a tendency to clip off the first bit of sound after a pause
