there's a place where it says "video codek" and then audio codek. should I do
anything with either one of those?

customize is where you choose bitrate, stereo or mono.
I could not find a progress, so just give it a while and check the destination
folder.

remember how to open the image in Fusioon.
FOr a sighted person its the matter of dragging the file and place it where
fusion tell you to place it.

Why can't you use Itunes?
When I half to convert sometimes from mp4 to mp3 I use Itunes.
I do have a separate playlist just for this.
You just half to clean up the unwanted files after your done but it works just
fine if you set up Itunes preferences using the mp3 option from the pull down

I also believe you can convert to mp3 directly with Ffmpeg as well and this
should save you one step.
