Hi Pete, I’m using Australian Karen, I can try and change it to see if it makes any difference. But I have Australian Karen on my wife’s Mac as well and I’ve never had this issue on her machine. But then I don’t use it as often so that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. I seem to remember this issue

Hello, I notice that control does not work very often to silence speech. It does not matter what voice I am using. Sometimes when I hit control it will even start speaking in a different voice than the one I am using. It is one of the most annoying frustrations I have with VoiceOver. Greg Woche
