Yes. In VO settings, on both devices, there is a setting for how you want VO
to indicate Caps. I have mine set to use pitch, so Capital letters are spoken
at a higher pitch. I think the other options are play sound and speak Cap.
That setting is under Accessibility, Voiceover, verbosity.
Thanks donna,
I have my sound effects off so will turn them on till I get comfortable.
But that brings me to hopefully my final issue for today (smile).
Voiceover - neither on the iphone or ipad - announces caps.
any ideas?

Hi KerryAnn,
Re Quicknav, I don’t use it on the Mac, either, but it’s absolutely essential
for working on the iPad. After you press the left and right arrows, you will
know that it’s activated because you will hear a little upward trill. You’ll
hear a downward trill when you deactivate it.

the event, and I'm loving adding the zoom link
No, not sure why this doesn’t work, but it doesn’t. I press Ctrl up arrow to
jum to the top of the scrreen, and then click the All Inboxes button. Then
arrow over to the message list. Like I said, it works, but it’s less efficient.

Hi KerryAnn,
I’m unable to duplicate these issues, at least the mail issues. I’m typing on
my Mantis now, and it is paired with my iPad. Tab and Shift-Tab move through
the message fields. One thing to remember is that when typing in a text field,
you need to have Quicknav on. then, when you
the problem is that when i try that it gets stuck in one area and i can’t
locate the necessary buttons. its frustrating to say the least.
i’m wondering. if there is some view or such setting i didn’t do correctly.

Hi,
After entering text into the body, try swiping left to get back to the other

I have an email to send, I go to compose (this is on the ipad).
I cannot navigate around the various areas. I can input the body, but its a
pain to locate the "to filed. If I get that done, editing the subject is
another stres. and then locating the sned

Hi KerryAnn,
Mail is definitely one of those things that’s more efficient on the Mac.
Remember that the iPad uses containers, so you’ll have one thing, for example
your message list, in one, and then the currently open message in another.
Honestly, when I’m working in Mail, I often use a

Hi KerryAnn,
If you are thinking your iPad will replace your Mac, I assume you’re thinking
you’ll use it with an external keyboard? Here is a link to some info about
that:

Hi all:
I’m seeking some advice. I sent my Mac in for a battery replacement 2 weeks ago
and since its return my internet connectivity seems diminished.
Someone suggested I should reset to factory defaults. Oh I forgot I’m running

Hi Doug,
If your utility is command-line based, but shell scriptable, you might
be able to wrap it in an Automator workflow. Automator lets you run
shell scripts and AppleScripts as individual actions in the workflow.
There may be better solutions that others can suggest, though.
