You don’t have to use arrow key navigation to move to “keyboard”.
I just opened System Settings, VOiceOver said I was in the side panel, I then
typed key and VOiceOver said Keyboard.

In macOS System Settings, Keyboard is not located within General, like on iOS.
In both macOS Sonoma (which is what Lori is now running), and Sequoia, Keyboard
is on the same level as General, and in the System Settings sidebar, is located
below Wallet and ApplePay.

I don't think you can delete the junk folder. Automatically. But the trash
folder should automatically be emptied automatically.

I believe you need to go into your Mail preferences for your Gmail account, and
change the destination for deleted Mail items.
I seem to remember that the default for Gmail is to send deleted mail to the
Archive folder, where it can be saved forever.

Sounds like your Apple Mail client is blocking HTML content in Junk email.
If you navigate outside of the mail item’s content area, you should find a bar
with a button to show hidden content. This should be located between the
content area, and the header area.

Are you using quicknav orVO arrow keys? If so,thentry using arrow keys with no
modification.
Standard table actions with VO arrow keys is to go to the next column first row
when you get to the end of a specific column.
